Someone who has been walking behind you for too long. A dark street, an empty bus stop. NINA Angel is made for those minutes: to let the people who care about you know quickly where you are.
You press the button on the device. An SMS goes out straight away to the emergency contacts you set in the app, with a link: your location, updating as you move. The link opens in any browser, with nothing to download.
At the same moment, a screen protected by your PIN and your fingerprint or face opens on your phone. That is the only place the alarm can be switched off, and whoever was already alerted gets a message to reassure them. Someone who grabs your phone cannot switch it off for you.
Whoever receives the link can share it with other people and, if needed, with the police: the location reaches those who can step in, with no need to explain it over the phone.
The route and the moments of the emergency session are kept for 30 days: during that time you can download them from a computer, for instance to hand to investigators. Then they are gone.
The second function isn't an alarm. In the app you pick one or more numbers from your contacts and send them a link to follow your route: to your home, or to any other destination. When you reach the address and go indoors, the session ends by itself.
NINA Angel does not keep a list of your destinations. Your routes stay for 30 days in your documents folder: you can download them to a computer, or ignore them, and they delete themselves as they turn 30 days old.
NINA Angel does not call 112 and does not replace the emergency services: it alerts the people you chose. If the danger is immediate, the number to call is still 112.
